Blake’s Tea Journal Continues – The blog is 1 year old!

Hey there, tea drinkers! I hope you had a great weekend. Well, it’s hard for me to believe, but it has already been a year since the Blake’s Tea Journal blog went online and I wrote that introductory post – Blake’s Tea Journal Begins. First off, I want to take a moment to thank everyone that follows Blake’s Tea Journal: Thank you for following my blog! I really do appreciate your support. And I want to thank everyone that has taken the time to read any of my posts, as well as all those who have taken the time to further interact with my content through liking, commenting, and sharing. Your feedback and support are invaluable!

Starting this blog and trying to get settled into the blogosphere over the last year has been a great experience, and I’m glad to see that after one year me and the blog are still around. Of course, there have been ups and downs during this first year. After setting up the site and making the first few posts, I let the blog slip and didn’t make any posts for several months; Blake’s Tea Journal nearly fell into oblivion. Although it took a while to get back to it, and although it took a while more to develop a habit of regular posting, I think I’ve managed to find a pretty good rhythm and have been making pretty regular posts over these last few months: a habit I hope to continue during this coming year. Since then I’ve been working to improve the site and the quality of my posts. For example, I went through a fairly recent transformation of the site via a theme update; my original site theme seemed to be a little glitchy sometimes with the new Gutenberg editor. Although I was a little apprehensive to make the change (it was a lot of effort), I think it turned out really well. And looking back at my early posts, and thinking about where the blog is at now, I’d like to think that I’ve grown as a blogger since then and that Blake’s Tea Journal has improved because of it. However, I also know that I’ve still got a lot to learn and long ways to go in growing the blog. I’ve got several ideas for new posts and new post categories/series that I plan to work on and start rolling out in the near future. But I’d also love to have your help during this process! You’re feedback can help me make Blake’s Tea Journal better for you and other readers. If you have any constructive criticism, or suggestions for improving Blake’s Tea Journal or its posts, please drop me a line down in the comments and let me know what you think. Similarly, if there is something that you’d like to see (type of post, new content, etc.), or see more of, on Blake’s Tea Journal, comment down below and let me know.

Soon after the blog’s intro post, I quickly published the first real tea-themed post on Blake’s Tea Journal (also one year ago): Review of the Ginseng Green from adagio teas. That first tea review post was the progenitor of what would become my The Taste of Tea series, which I now consider to be the heart of Blake’s Tea Journal. Therefore, I thought it would also be appropriate to celebrate that post by revisiting that tea with a new The Taste of Tea post. Soon after this post is up, I’ll publish it as a companion to this one. So keep an eye out for that! (I’ll come back and add the link after it’s up– see it here)

With that, I want to say thanks again for your support! I think it’s been a good first year, and I look forward to continuing to share my experiences through the vast world of tea, and as I do, I hope you’ll continue to share in this tea journey with me, Blake, and Blake’s Tea Journal.
